Most things fix themselves with one pedal stroke. For the rest, here’s what to try.
Connecting your trainer
- Calmavelo works with smart trainers that support Bluetooth FTMS (Fitness Machine Service).
- Pedal a few strokes to wake the trainer. It appears under “Smart trainers nearby”. Tap it once; from then on the app connects by itself.
- Close other trainer apps on every nearby device, phone, tablet and computer. Most trainers accept only one connection at a time.
- If the list stays empty, check that Bluetooth is on and allowed for Calmavelo in Settings → Privacy & Security → Bluetooth.
Apple Watch
- Install Calmavelo on your Watch from the Watch app on your iPhone.
- Start a ride on either device; the other one follows along.
- Riding without your iPhone? Start on the Watch. If no iPhone answers within a few seconds, the Watch connects to the trainer itself.
- Once a ride has started, the device that controls the trainer stays the same until you end the ride.
Apple Health
- Rides are saved to Apple Health when you end them. With an Apple Watch, the Watch saves the workout, including heart rate and calories.
- No rides showing up? Check Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices → Calmavelo and allow all categories.
Control modes
- ERG holds a target wattage. Slope simulates −10 % to +20 %. Resistance sets a fixed level.
- Only the modes your trainer supports are shown.
Free rides and purchase
- Your first five rides are free. A ride counts once it lasts ten minutes; shorter rides and discarded rides don’t count.
- Used up your free rides? You can take one more ride on us before deciding.
- After that, one purchase unlocks Calmavelo for good, on iPhone and Apple Watch. No subscription.
- New iPhone, or reinstalled the app? Tap “Unlock”, then “Restore Purchase”. Use the same Apple Account you bought it with.
- Bought it on your iPhone but the Watch still asks? Open Calmavelo on the Watch, tap Start and choose “Restore Purchase”.
- Family Sharing: one purchase covers your whole Apple family group. Family members tap “Unlock”, then “Restore Purchase”. If it doesn’t appear, check that Family Sharing and “Purchase Sharing” are on in Settings → your name → Family Sharing, and that the purchaser keeps sharing it. If a purchase needs approval (Ask to Buy), the app unlocks as soon as it’s approved.
